Roland V-Synth v2
hey fellas!
as everyone else, we are awaiting the TI. my friend got trigger happy and went and bought a V-Synth in the meantime... which at first glance seemed like a mediocre synth, but a good sample mangler. with the new update from Roland, i feel we have a completly new synth at our hands. 512 new presets.. whereas just about all of them are usable high quality sounds. i am very impressed with it. its never going to replace in anyway a VA like the virus, but i figured i'd post my two cents for you all
cheers,
.x

Can you make some demos how the jp80x0-oscillators sound? In particular the supersaw oscillator. How do the strings and trancey leads sound? I have a real 8080 for that purpose but it would be nice to hear how roland implemented those features in v-synth v.2.

Oh, I dunno, they're totally seperate beasts!!! One uses samples and can resample to the extreme as just one part of its arsenal, and the other is a full-blown, hardcore VA.
An S&S synth and another, seperate VA synth is a great dual-combo to cover most bases.

right on the money there! the virus and the v together could be pretty much all you need.

I still can't wait to get a V. I've been wanting one for ages now, but just before buying one I realized I needed the money for something else - those who know me on MSN will know how close I was too!
The supersaw doesn't appeal to me in the slightest though, it's just the raw sound creation from anything that's the V's appeal for me. It has the possibility to sound completely different to any other board (even someone else's V-synth).
Nice buy Xerxes! I'm jealous more than you can know.
Now get in there, delete all the waveform memory and start over with new samples!

I just bought the V-Synth
I can't wait to tweak that monster machine.
I think I will wait and see wait comes of the TI release.
I just got a fat tax return, so I could get both.
That 's overkill. I pre-ordered one already.
I really should be responsible and use the money
for something other than my Gas. I'll decide if I
should cancel after Messe this week. Hopefully there
will be more to show on the TI by now. At least a now
shipping announcement. We'll see!

Unfortunately no one here believes my hoaxes anymore though. I need to spam another forum somewhere!
Now, in keeping my dream of owning a V-synth alive, I try to find new demos of the thing.
I found patch demo's of OS2 on this site.
http://v-tribe.info/gear/demos/
That HollowD50 patch!!!
There's a few nice other patches too mind you, but the kits aren't too great. It just has the abilty to sound like anything you want it too though. Fuck I want one!!!!
