Default Virus KB against C *real world comprisons?*

Hey all, i'm about to get a virus KB for a nice price here in the UK,

I would like to know what differences their are between the C models and the B models in the real world,

sure i've read the comprison charts and such... But does this stuff make a BIG difference or is it just minor things that you appreciate with use and just sort things you'd miss if they were gone but not if you didn't have them in the first place.

I'm just wondering wether to save for an extra month and get a C or just jump the boat and grab the KB now.

Many thanks for any input.

Well, for me, the Moog modeled filters (with self oscilation) marked the largest difference between the two models. they really opened up a new pallet of sounds that the classic virus filters where not capable of producing. the eq per part is also a nice thing to have especially if you are doing a lot of work with multiple parts. but you should really have a listen to these enhancements and decide whether they are worth the extra cash for your needs.

Best,
midi.

Well the fact of the matter is the Virus KB was a good synth 'then' and still is 'now'. Alot of people still have them and yes....if your after the Virus sound....then its more than sufficient.

Let me guess....your getting the Virus KB off SOS for ?400. Man, you can't do better than that. Virus KC's go for like ?800-ish. Go with the KB.

I dont think Per will mind me linking his sounds....but check this out >> http://www.perkristian.net/Virus_KB.htm

Great! its actually a KB for ?350...I thought it was an ace price!

Technically the B and C range use the same sound engine/architecture don't they?

Apart from the extra mod sources, few extra effect algorithms and the moog filter, im basicly going to be able to scuplt pretty much the same sounds on either ?

thanks for the input.

Yes Coxy your right on every point.

?350 is a steal! SO much synth for so little money. I'm currently looking at an unopened Waldorf Q keyboard for ?500.

Great stuff, think i'll stick with the KB then.

I initially looked at a waldorf Q but then settled for the Virus, though it was such a close call.

I can't deny that even with the KB i guess i'll have endless sound sculpting facilities at my disposal and a synth is really just what you make it I guess (within reason ofcourse)

Many thanks for the info DS and everyone.

Much appreciated
