Psytrance production, synths and effects!
Ok what are the latest gadgets been used in psy production?
What?s being used to make the kiks bass and leads, pads and percussion in today?s Psy music?
Does anyone use Dave Smith Instruments Poly Evolver synth?

I belive the nord lead is the most popular HW synth in this genre.
the evolver is an amazing hybrid synth, they are revealing a new version of the mono (non poly version) evolver soon (maybe on this winter namm show) ,it will be a small keyboard version with some knobs,
that should be massive.

I'm thinking of getting an evolver now , it?s a good price. Or maybe nordG2 or nord lead. The evolver sounds amazing and well equipped for Psy, fat bass/full on, pads leads and some amazing effects. Does the mono have better bass?

As you allready have the virus, then I would go for an evolver or G2 modular. You might find way too much overlap with the NL3 (other than it being alot brighter/harsher).
G2M is probably the closest ive heard in a digital synth to analog - I think it runs at 96K sample rate internally which would explain alot.
I must admit to getting more and mroe tempted by the G2X

I'd probably go for the G2 over the Evolver and the Lead3.
Although when getting into something like the G2, your tracks will probably take a sideline to programming.
If the musician in me were talking however (over the sound designer that is), I'd go for the Evolver. More hands on, with some really gutsy sounds.
Depends on what you really want to do though I guess. I'd say for this genre though, you would be pretty happy with a Nord of some description.

G2 is great but is dangerous as you easily end up programming sounds instead of actually doing anything useful. What about investing in a softsampler and loads of sample CD's/DVD's + FX plugins and/or DSP card? Psytrance track is no psytrance track without good sample munging and FX.

G2 rack with Virus TI remote sounds like a cool combo, if Access will make a remote for it that is?
The Evolver has a nice character in its sound I like. Wave sequencing on it sounds like a tool designed for Psytrancers The character of the Bass is TASTY to say the least, rounded rich both analog and digital and FAT powerful and nice and warm. That is very tempting.
I can?t say much for the G2's sound as I have not really heard much of it. For features it?s very interesting G2 was top of my list but now im not so sure
Khazul from Reading what's your real name? Have a feeling i may know you lol 8O
