Infekted.org Facelift Competition

Hi guys and gals,

I think we have a few budding graphic artists amongst the place, So:


I think we should hold a competition for a new Infekted.org facelift.

As you know we are now hosted on a new server and have now got our own Domain and many of you are discussing the need for a new logo / forum style. So we've decided to put it out to everyone to get artistic.

If you have an idea for a new style or even just a new logo then upload them onto the site by replying to this thread and attaching the various images.

Ideally we really need a new logo, but if any of you want to go the whole hog and redesign the look of the pages then take screenshots, drop them into photoshop and get creative...

We'll have to set a cut-off date, so hows about June 1st. The creations will then be drawn together and be made into a vote allowing everyone to have their say.

If we get a few new "styles" then I will try and make each one of them a reality so that you can all choose your "skin" via the profile page. That way there is more incentive to create your own styles...

Obviously there is no cash reward, the only prize for winning is having your logo up there eveytime you log in as well as getting mucho kudos and respect amongst the infekted community.

I should make 1 thing clear - there will only be one winner for the logo so any styles will have to be adapted to use the new logo. But as stated I will endeavour to get each submitted style (within reason) up on the site enabling you to skin the forum.

I should point out that to change the forum from a phpbb forum to any other type (like the Invision forum) would be an absolutely monumental effort...

It would be a huge project and a huge risk. Both forums use entirely different databases, all the data would need to be mapped accross, any new field types that are not used in the phpbb would have to be created.

I certainly don't have enough time free to take on a project like that.

This comp is very much to change the style to one we all agree on based around the phpbb forum.

Any particular style from extremepixels you are interested in Ten?

As far as the skins go....I dont have a preference personally, but a change would be nice. New forum, new mods, new look, new beginning!!!

I have been spamming various other forums(Vintage Synth, Virusti.com, Cubase Forums etc) to try and get the word out. I have added the Infekted link to my signitures too...

Well, if my logo isn't used I'll sulk

Also, if we use a dark background with light writing I will not be happy. Sites like that make my eyes bleed.

And yeah, those extremepixel skins are pretty good.
