I wouldn't buy a PS3. There is no way in hell that I will spend ?600-700 for an PS3 and maybe a game.

Same reason why I haven't bought an Xbox360 even if there is some really nice games on that system.

Blarfgh, I still love my old chipped xbox.

They are pretty cheap here, but I still wouldn't be buying one.

I played a few games on one a week or two ago and they aren't bad, but I am having trouble with Sony's "let's ram Blueray down the throats of consumers" strategy more than anything else.

What's pretty cheap then?

Cheaper than a kg of minke whale?

Cheaper than a Korean whore?

Give us numbers, boy. Numbers.

Blimey, look at the in-game graphics on this:

Call of Duty 3. (Click to enlarge to their original sizes).

Steve! Know EXACTLY what you mean! When I first heard Sony were going to use Blu-Ray in their PS3s I thought, what the fuck!!! It's retarded when there's stuff like Holographic Versatile Discs (HVD) coming out very soon (end of this year).

50Gb Blu-Ray vs. 1TB HoloDisc (with a throughput of 1Gbps).... I know which I'd prefer!

http://www.theregister.co.uk/2005/11..._holo_storage/

"InPhase isn't the only company promoting holographic storage. Japan's Optware - which in July won $14m in funding from four companies, one of which was Toshiba; it also has backing from Intel Capital - is working on a DVD-sized holographic disc is says will hold more than 1TB of data with a throughput of 1Gbps."

Where's the burning Jews then if you don't get 800 points?

I'd like to see that.

Or grandma in Dresden getting her fucking Kraut head ripped off by a 200lbs shell as her family die in the basement of asphyxiation!

Yes! The future is here!

IE. You have to be fucked up to like that Timo.

Or wait! of course! This could be simply a ploy to lose the election. Hmm.

CLEVER. Very fucking clever.

I'd like to play as a German and shoot private-urban-myth-ryan in the head.

U.S. losses in WWII - approx 500,000 troops/civilians
U.K. losses in WWII - approx 500,000 troops/civilians
USSR losses in WWII - approx 9,000,000 troops/civilians

it seems the yanks have invented an entire social myth about their role in WWII, this game is just another backslapping excercise.

Now if it was russkie troops......

Did I say: "OMFG, I can't fucking wait to play this!!!" ?

Err, no. So wind yer neck in. I'm not an avid gamer. The last time I bought a full game was probably Zool for the Amiga, sometime last century. [Edit: tell a lie, it was "Formula1 GP" for the Playstation 1 in around 1998.]

I'm just staggered how far computer graphics have come. I remember playing the Commodore 64 as a kid.

Personally I think it's fucking scary how many modern 3D shoot-em-up games there are out there with unashamedly large amounts of guns, blood and gore, now, let alone the future. And kids are playing this stuff.
