Mobile audio recording gear
Have recently found <PAID> employment doing music and voiceovers for a film production company here.
Next project will involve doing an interview with a bloke. What to use? The company's got their own super good gear but wanna be independent in future.
Suggestions and experiences appreciated.
Matt

There are numerous field recorders out there, ranging from budget (Edirol etc) to super expensive (Nagra V)
The best out there IMO is the Nagra V or the slightly cheaper Nagra Ares BB+.
Other ones to check out would be the Sound Devices recorders. They are a very good field recirder, but are also quite expensive.
Marantz do some nice recorders, the PMD series I think, but doesnt come with timecode. There is a new Tascam unit out there that is very reasonably priced, used Compact Flash for storage, and comes with a limiter and timecode. I think it is called the HDP or something.
Of course you could go portable DAT...
Sennheiser MKH shotgun mics are industry standard, and you might want to look at a radio mic kit too.

The Korg MR1 looks really funky. 1-bit mobile recording.
Check this thread out:

Then again, Jase certainly knows his stuff!

If you're after that warm tape sound, I have an old "vintage" dictaphone that takes those little answering sized tapes that I might wanna part with.
Dictaphone, plus 3 tapes for just 199euro!!!
Free shipping is included if you buy within 48 hours!!!
