Cool Hello from Norway

New PØLAR owner here! I'm all excited about this thing. Now to read through the manual :O. It's a tad more difficult to understand and program compared to my Supernova II, but better sounding. Well. Once I know the virus Inside-out it will be just as easy anyways

I program my own sounds for all my tracks, so I feel the song is completly made by me except for drums. My yamaha motif is perfect for drums and bread'n Butter.
The Supernova is perfect for bass'es, effects and arpeggios. Oh and the Nord Wave is perfect for leads and sample-playback (I might try to sample a Detuned Hypersaw into the wave and see how that works just for fun).

I think my virus will expand the soundlibrary and even give me better sounds additionally. I'm very impressed by it so far and it looks very hot!

To my setup I recently bought a Yamaha MW12cx Mixer that also works as an audio interface. I got the Cubase AI4 Bundled with it, which I like alot. I mostly use Midi over audio.

I must say my studio is tiny. but I think I got what it takes to make a few nice songs now :P

Aaaand I'm using Windows Vista 32-bit. (finds a corner to hide in).
There was some issues with the Mixer and Vista. If I touch the ASIO settings in cubase, it crashes and I have to reinstall Cubase and the mixer software :P So I will just leave it where it is.

The type of music I make is somewhere in-between Techno, Trance and Jean Michel Jarre (I'm a big fan). I make strange and wierd music, I think a few of my tracks would be perfect for video games :P And I will prolly make more Future Music with this virus, like The Chemical Brothers and Prodigy. But we'll see.

This looks like good forum. The community around the Virus seems to be bigger then others. I'm glad for that and happy to join. *cheers*

Thanks!
I found the manual quite usefull to get to know the synth. I think it blew my brain. Seriously, there is so much you can do with this wonderfully white PØLAR. It's off my brains IQ limit. ^^

Welcome to the forum!

And I must say I'm a bit jealous that you have your hands on a Nord Wave and I don't - would love to try one of those out for a month or two!

Welcome again!

Certainly the Virus takes a good while to work through all of its manual and features, and rewards you accordingly.

The Nord Wave looks awesome, though!

Welcome

I would recommend Nord Wave for those who wants sample playback. It's like a slightly reduced NL3 with sample playback and effects. The effects is very good. You can map many samples in 1 sample-program. so I actually made myself a drum kit across the keyboard. Works nicely.

Welcome
I think the hardest part is to learn all the destinations.

The Nord Wave is so simple to use, it's not even fun. After looking at it, you just know how to use it. Same with the Software for making samples.
