Default What bugs have you found in OS 2.5 firmware?

I have a new Virus that I have so far been playing with without using Virus Control.

I wanted to know how buggy the current firmware was and whether anyone else has seen problems, so that I can help understand whether I should be expecting this synth to have bugs or not I love the sound but would be a lot less stressed out if I knew these were things that the Virus was expected to do rather than my Virus possibly being broken. Right now, it's hard to tell.

Has anyone seen a somewhat hard to reproduce bug where they are playing the keyboard and while notes continue to come out, the controls stop working and you have to cycle the power? How about the same with the screen becoming white with no text, but still producing audio, with inactive controls?

Are there any other hardware (non Virus Control) bugs you have encountered with this OS, and if so, what are they? What conditions generally cause problems?

Thanks!

hey llamastorm, welcome to the forum. I personally haven't experienced those issues that you are having. Just wanted to make sure, you're using the latest 2.5.1 os/firmware?

Ok, thanks for the info.

When booting up it does say 2.5.1.02

I'm tempted to reflash it just to make doubly sure everything is loaded ok.

Access originally gave me a power cord with a short in it, so I'm hoping that didn't damage anything... it (the power cord) is now replaced, though they are telling me for warranty service I still have to pay shipping to the service center, so I'm trying to eliminate all possible problems before doing that.

I'm testing it now/tonight with it plugged into a UPS, new firmware, and a fresh factory reset... hopefully it will stay working, if not, we'll find out

Nope, it's still screwed up.

I've contacted Access and hopefully we can get it repaired.

Thanks.

that's a bummer. Access's support is pretty top notch so hopefully this will quickly get taken care of for you.

The replacement power cord I bought seems loose, so I'm doing some more testing -- maybe they can just send me a new cord and that will fix it, as I can only seem to make bad things happen after a while of playing and when I start getting a bit more aggressive (I think).

I do love this synth though. (Running some of the piano patches through th e distortion is great!) Hopefully it's ok

FWIW, it's not the cord

Access is a little slow getting back to me about repair info. Hopefully I'll get it fixed. Until then, it's fun until it crashes and then I can just power cycle it, but you would expect a synth of this price to stay working.

Hmm...

indeed. I would be a little annoyed myself. hopefully you get this sorted soon and can then just focus on using your virus.
