Default Using Virus in Cubase 5 << Resolved (SHould learn to read manuals and not lose track)

Hi guys again a few more questions and thank you for your help to date.

I have posted in Cubase forum and thoguht I'd do a crosspost here.

Again what I am trying seems straightforward but not getting the results and sure its an oversight on my behalf.

Hoping for some help. Whilst I understand the Virus USB input cannot be used in Cubase 5 due to the lack of sidechaining (which really ought to be sorted *hint*). I need some advice on setting up the USB inputs 1/2/3 from the Virus into Cubase and capturing audio using the inputs on USB 1/2/3 (not the USB input) and also the 1/4 external input.

1. I have spent sometime resolving how the VIrus needs to be set up for USB outputs3/Input0 so the audio is streamed directly into the DAW bypassing the need for the external mixer, however, in Cubases mixer I am only seeing 1 audio channel strip set up for the USB outputs. USB 1L+R shown as Access TI only in the mixer panel. When selecting for example Midi Channel 2 in the Virus Control and assigning the output to USB 2L+R or even USB3L+R there is no sound and no channel strip in the mixer although the MIDI channel strip is shown and responding actively. I have set up the 3 inputs USB 1/2/3 in the VST connectios but 2+3 are showing as incative although they do appear in the Cubase mixer....again silence unless assigned to USB 1 L+R on the audio.

2. What do I also need to do to record the midi channel using the USB down to an audio track. As I am getting a silent response. For example VC Midi Channel 1 assigned to a bass sound on USB 1 and using a VST compressor.....Channel 2 assigned to a lead on USB 2 and using a reverb in the mixer and Channel 3 assigned USB 3 to a bass drum and using another compressor in the strip.

3. When trying to record using the direct audio input (non USB) from the Virus Outputs 1/2/3 L+R into the external mixer and routed with stereo leads from the mixer back into the Virus input into Cubase 5 I am getting no signal/audio if I use the Mackie firewire and select the appropriate inputs using the Mackie ASIO drivers, I get audio. Obviously when trying to use the Virus as a soundcard for the input routing I am using the Access's ASIO drivers and the outputs and inputs are shown as active and assigned in the

My impression at the moment is that the Access Virus is not fully functional with Cubase 5 with the features its boasting.

Can someone please advise.

Most appreciated

1/2) you need to enable the additional outputs in cubase (in the VST instrument list window). read the cubase manual.

3) read the virus addendum about the USB I/O mode

Ah thanks for your help got the USB sorted

Thanks

Still need to try and get the audio input working for the virus, not the USB, just the standard 1/4'' audio inputs.
