Default Strange Behavior in Sound Engine?

Can anyone reproduce or explain the following?

Make both OSCs Classic
Tune OSC 2 to -36
turn FM to max
switch on Sync

Now play with the WT Index of OSC 1. When you switch from Saw98% (coming from the Sine Wave) to Saw100% the wave itself only changes a very little, of course. The sound, however, much more than expected. This also happens when OSC 1 is wavetable. At any WT index of OSC1 the sound transition is smooth but in the middle.

cheers
MaF

No, doesn't happen on my virus version 1 Kb. I followed your description but the transition is smooth.

I have a harsher transition when OCS 1&2 are detuned to a certain degree on top of the -36 semitone for OSC2. But I don't really know what it is supposed to sound like

To me it sound as if SAWTOOTH has actually already elements of a very narrow PULSE hence the rather different character of the sound. I've no Oscilloscope here at the moment so I can not see if thats true or not. Therefore take this statement with a grain of salt.

They are the same, yes. What sound base did you start from? I started from INIT and made the adjustments you mentioned above

Now I found the time to test again. It does not happen when I start from an Init patch. It only happened from another patch, but don't ask me which one, I forgot... Is any combination of parameters imaginable that could and should lead to such a behaviour in sound?
