Default MIDI Controllers resetting after switching Channels in Logic

I know this must be a simple fix, but I can't figure it out for the life of me.
I have a Virus KC and use it in conjunction with Logic 6 on Mac OSX.
The problem is that when I edit any controllers (filter, LFO, etc.) and leave that sequencer channel in Logic, it resets all of the information back to the default patch. Obviously very frustrating. I don't if it is because of the setting I have the controller engine set to (ie. internal, or internal + MIDI, or just MIDI), or whether it is a preference within Logic.
This is very frustrating and any sort of input would be amazing...thanks!!
Eric
