I should add that don't over use compression (unless you are going for that crushed sound of course). Compression should be used lightly in the right places.
I've noticed some really good threads on the FM forum that may be worth a read for you - explaining in detail the differences between the hardware and software compressors, plus how and when to use them.

Do I have to Tommer? That board is huge and looking through it takes forever!
