I think the MIDI timing of the soundcards is imperitive for Soundiver to work.
It really makes me wonder why SD acts like this. It just sends SysEx like hundreds of other software but there is no other software in the existence that has such big problem with MIDI-interface compatibility. I think the problems are so huge that "get a better interface" is not the solution. I'd think "improve the software code" is better solution for all.

Glad to hear that everything is sorted!

I must say for the record (in defence of SD) that I use it alot for sound designing (cos I have the RackXL) and it has never caused me grief. Also, I think that probably the FULL VERSION might be a bit more stable and compatible with more MIDI Interfaces etc...... I for one would like to upgrade to the full version (if I had the money)

Sound Diver rocks!

I have recenty purchased an Indigo 2 and think I may have just encountered the same problem. Everything was sweet for a few days including loading banks E - H and messing around loading patches to and from Sounddiver.

Then when requesting sounds from the Virus yesterday the PC crashed. Now I notice that all the patches exhibit some kind of distortion which seems related to note on velocity. This is particularly evident if you hold a chord and then play extra notes or play repeated notes before the older ones have decayed completely. The distortion only occurs when the keys pressed are actual moving and stops when the reach the end of their travel.

I will try a system reset, follwed by an O/S reinstall to see if I can restore some normaility.

EDIT: Tried a system reset and all now works fine.

BTW: visiting Turnkey today they inform me the the Indigo 2 is now discontinued.

Yes it is definitely the Indigo 2. (I believe the Indigo 1 was discontinued when the 2 came out a couple of years ago). I bought my Indigo 2 new from Turnkey a couple of weeks ago at a discounetd price (?200 off the list price that had been static for about 12 months) which made me think that there was potentially a bit of stock clearing going on.

Also worth noting that yesterday all the demo models of the Virus kC and C had been removed from the shop floor (though the Classic was still on show) so maybe making space for replacements?
