Also, what about the D-Beams?

They did not look as cool as the Time Trip Pad but still, if it is another feature less than the full keyed model that would kind of suck ass.

There would have to be a SIGNIFICANT price reduction to justify purchasing that synth without the T.T. pad or D-beams.

I think the V-synth came in a little on the pricey side anyway; let's see what they price this one at and what the final feature set is...

Has anyone played with a V-synth in a showroom or otherwise?
I have only seen the Roland Videos online...

Nothing about an on-screen Timetrip pad......Mmmm, not much info at all really. Can't see anything about the d-beams either.

I wonder if they will drop the price of it alot - compared with V-synth?! It has the VC1 and 2 cards built in, plus it has the colour screen.

V-synths second hand are really cheap here and I see them for sale quite often really. Can't imagine the rack being cheaper than a second hand V-synth. If they are though, I will have to have a think about getting one....

Agreed HC; that is a good means of valuation.

If V-synth Rack<Used V-Synth buy Rack

If used V-Synth<V-synth Rack buy used V-Synth.

So the demo shows some vocodor patches for the XT (choir vocs).
Is there any other software that do the Variphrase. May be kyma or something?Rack cost about $2200.00 and the v synth(old one) kb cost $1750.00 This is the samash price.

Melodyne does a variphrase style editing quite well, but it's just not as hands on as the V-synth. It's a real prick to setup melodyne to do layered stuff on the fly and it doesn't have to cosm based FX or filters. The V-synth is more just an all in one sort of thing.

So is that the price of it really? $2200?

The price is some where around there. I played the v synth at samash the otherday. There is a patch called "Let them pray". I think the osc for this patch was an Indian aah voice sample( raga sound) and was playing with the pitch knob and all other goodies. I really like this machine. May be in the future for the rack version when JP 8 V card comes out or something. I know HC, you want one right . I still don't know what it does, May be it is a sampler effect proccessor and good for film scoring(Horror)

Damn, it's more expensive than I thought it was gunna be.

I would absolutley love one! I was so close to buying one a few months ago, but a small emergency came up so the money was put on hold. Seeing this new rack has turned my GAS back on again.

The V-card 2 (vocal card) is a must buy I rekon. Of course it comes built in to the rackXT, but I would still be better off buy a used V-synth keyboard and getting the vocal card seperately.

One day I'll own one, one day....
