I always thought the IndigoII was cheaper than the KC, but it was a long time ago I was shopping around for my C.

Yep, in the UK the Indigo II was ?1,270 (= $2,392 USD, or 1,834 Euros), while the kC was ?1,430 (= $2,694 USD or 2,065 Euros).

...a difference of ?160 ($302 USD, or 231 Euros)

Now they're both ?1500 for some unbeknown reason, especially as the 61-note version has a superior keybed and a larger metal chassis.

they are both supposed to sell for the same price. the reason why the polar (and indigo) are more expensive in terms of how many keys you get for your money is the materials used. the aluminium side panel are not exactly cheap and one of those white LEDs probably costs as much as half of what you pay for all the red LEDs in total.

it is an option you can take or leave. if you're just out for the sound, the best deal is probably a desktop version.
