Usually start the initial loop on the sequencer in my JX305, then move over to Cubase VST32 once I start recording audio parts.

Wow, Cubase is popular.

I use Digital Performer, like it a lot. Tried everything else, and I used Cubase for 6 months back in the SX1 days, but I've been on DP for a few years now, don't care to switch anytime soon.

most of use are pc users,personaly i cobase is my choice for pc platform.

I used a Emu XL-7 (harware) for some time but found it anoying to mess around with a 2 line display and when i got my Virus it was a pain in the ass to sequense it from the XL-7. Anyway the XL-7 dosn?t support audio sequensing and you can?t use VSTi?s in it so that also limits it quite a bit. Now i only use the XL-7 as a sound module. All sequensing is done in Cubase. It?s a lot easier to work with as you don?t have to scroll through menus, you can actually see what your doing, you can view draw parameter changes with the mouse, etc. etc. etc.

Yeah cubase is really popular but i always heard that digital performer is better , not sure why tho.
I'm liking cubase too , i bought the cubase xtc pack witch is cubase sx with the tc native bundle 3 for 700 euro's and was super glad when they told me it came with a free upgrade to sx 3.
I have used cubase , Logic , cakewalk and protools (not very long but i used it) and i sticked with cubase .

Yeah hollowcell , i'm going to try something similar too , make a starting loop on my mpc and when it starts to take shape i'll sync it up to cubase and start to add the synths and do the sequencing. I am gunna try that out , still looking for my method of working (see previous post http://www.sunesha.nu/virusforum/vie...ghlight=#35523 ) and this seems pretty promising.
With this method i can render my synth or mpc to audio in cubase super-fast and add some vst effects and stuff withc i usually did in the mixing stage because it was too mutch work and disturbed my creative flow.

I'd love to have a hardware sequencer (RS7000). but i dont have the cash for it.

And i don't use any other sequencer right now. I haven't done any music in ages.

I been using Cubase for months, just switched to Logic Platinum 5.5.1 (PC) and my workrate has gone through the roof. It really is Logical to me and Cubase would never let me integrate the hardware via midi properly. Within 5 mins I was able to do all the things in Logic I had been trying to do in Cubase for months. Logic sounds phatter and drier to my ears too. Easier to hear whats going on in the mix and find space for instruments.

Ha! I would say your ears need checking. I've heard ProTools, Logic, DP, Live, and Cubase through Digi, Apogee, and MOTU D/A, and on 3 different sets of monitors (KRK, Mackie, and NS-10's). On a *really* good day, you can hear a change when switching D/A converters. I've never met anyone who could blindly hear the difference betwen DAW programs.
