yeah, I believe it is - hold down the LFO shape key when powering on and it will reinitialize the instrument. I don't have it in front of me, so I am going from memory

Wow, access answared in just a few hours, impressive!! Respect to that!

Heres what they said, if someone needs the information on how to instal new os:

Hello kim svendsen,

Thank you for your mail. No, the Virus kc doesn't have to be set to a special mode to be able to
receive an incoming OS.

To load a new OS File into your Virus you need to download the OS onto your computer first. You will
find all the sound and OS files on our website http://www.access-music.de
As soon as you downloaded the OS folder you need to unpack them. All OS versions are packed
as .ZIP file. This can be extracted by WinZip (on PC) or Stuffit Expander (on MAC).
After that you will find several folders. The folder "OS" contains the OS files as Standard MIDI File
(.mid).
All OS Files are stored as Standard Midi Files and can be imported into nearly any sequencer available
on the market. Start with the "first" OS File. When importing an OS File, one single track will appear in
the sequencers arrangement screen. Route this track to the Midi Out the Virus is connected to and
play it back at moderate speed (around 80 bpm). Also make sure Midi Clock transmission is
deactivated and the Virus is connected directly with the Midi Interface, so no other Midi gear
inbetween.
When uploading an OS File, the Virus' display will switch and show a raising number. After a
successful upload, you will be asked to hit the STORE button. Then the Virus will burn the data into
its ROM. Do not touch the unit during this time. After successfully burning the data into ROM the
Virus automatically will reboot. Then repeat the same process with the "second" file.

As soon as you proceed an OS Upgrade on your Virus and load up the "first" and "second" part of the
OS Files, you will automatically receive the additional 512 ROM Sounds.
