thank you techno7, but since I have no access anymore on a virus, I have no idea what that patch sounds like... Could you bounce it with the MIDI notes I've attached a link in one of the posts above? I would appreciate that very much! Or, if you have a good day, could you bounce some more Virus Dance leadsouns? Somehow, but I'm not sure anymore, I got the impression that the virus can't do very well sounding leadsouns... more pads

sorry, i just started my new job on monday and they are grilling me :\ over the weekend ill see if i can get my shit together and see what i can do. i have already downloaded the midi file.

the virus can do pretty everything analoguey. but it is just especially good for pads because of the awesome modulation capabilities of the synth. it can do monster leads. although you need to spend alot more time and a bit more effort to get really cutting, bright leads ala nord out of it. its so possible though. look at what lab4 can do with 2 virus bs...the lead for 'candyman' is probably one of the hugggest instrument sounds in dance music.

ill bung in some of the presets too.

by the way, i have done some fairly accurate JP8000 supersaw clones, but as of this date, i havent been able to properly model the filter. this is because 1) i do not have access to a clean soundclip filter sweeping the supersaw oscillator with and without resonance. and 2) because i have not invested that much time in fucking with cutoff/resonance behaviour in the mod matrix.

is it possible to get really close to the JP filter? probably. increasingly with my virus b i just keep thinking the only 3 factors that prevent you from recreating or creating any sound imaginable is time, patience and knowledge of the instrument. that and a big dollop of post processing.

You can get really bright sounds out the TI as well if you make heavy use of the EQ - you may need to crank up the freq of the mid EQ to boost the high EQ a bit more...

I then use the analog boost lower down to balance it all out a bit - still havnt made my mind up about the result - sounds too Nord-ish

I did 4 leads from the C bank, i hope i helped. I cant upload them to my server since its down so you're gonna have to wait unless you want me to email them to you. BTW: 4-5 additional soundbanks not installed on the virus that i can do some from too if you wish.

Madstation, Wandering Kid and Techno 7, thank you very much for your effort! It's great!

@Wandering Kid: I'm looking forward to your approached to that leadsound!

@Madstation: I still have your last submittion here at this forum in my winamp playlist This one actually doesn't sound like the leadsound I'm looking for, but it helped me remembering virus' character, so thank you therefore

@Techno 7: Thank you very much! Indeed, I don't really need exactly that sound and no other. You're right, I'm simply looking for a nice leadsound machine and have some doubts concerning the voris. So it's great that you give me a preview into some leadsounds! I'll pm you my email adress... But there'd be another option: www.yousendit.com - you can upload files up to 1GB! for free - limited dl

have a nice day!

I know that song, and you're right, I remember that leadsound being used frequently at 96-00 or so...

Are you 100% sure that it's a Virus?
