Thanks for listening guys!

I played around with doing some slowly evolving sounds last night - it really excells at this kinda stuff. Setting the step-modulator to run forwards then backwards (in different time sigs) attached to 4 destinations, then having aftertouch attached to more destinations, sounds never are static at all!

DS, yeah I bought a V-Synth rack about 2 weeks ago. I haven't had much time with it yet due to work reasons, but the time I have had with it really makes me wish I bought one earlier.

Hahaha! Classic. That's it I'll take a sample of the vacuum cleaner in the next few days then I'll post the results.

Variphrase has it's quirks though. Many sounds will not work at all with it - sounds have to be completely dry, plus it's better to have the samples longer as the loop points change once you turn it on. Having said all that though, you can always use it just like a normal sampler, but with many routings, envelopes, velocity curves and Cosm - in short this thing kicks arse!

Im glad you like it. Nice sound design btw. Does the D50 card come as standard in the rack?

The SynthWizard has some advice - Back in the 1980's music was better, TV was better, films were better. Not to mention fashion.... Let me help you relive the past with some classic 80's sounds from my vintage synth collection....

Yeah the D50 comes standard, but I haven't spent much time with it yet - looks easier to program than the original though, as more stuff is on the screen. It also has a new set of waveforms that the original didn't have which is nice.

Yeah, it certainly has changed the way I look at sampling that's for sure!

Great demo!.

I got a Virus, a Juno and a new V-Synth GT, what settings did use to program the Juno hoover sound on the V-Synth?

I can sample it in from the Juno, but it would be nice to replicate it using the oscillators as the V-synth has the Juno oscillator type.

Cheers
John

Hey John, welcome to the board!

I will take a look for you next time I am in the studio - it's been a while since making that sound.

Regarding the onboard VA waves though: I seem to get much better results using sampled waveforms than using the VA ones - even resampling saws to make a 'supersaw' then detuning two copies of the resampled-madness makes for a better sound. The only onboard OSC I use in the feedback one - that is very cool and can't really be got by sampling.

Yep, they are damn fun units. Everytime I sit down with the thing something different comes out of it! The only downside are the filters - they can sound ok, but you need to use the isolator/filter combo in the FX section as well as the Cosms - feels like a waste.

I have a few bits of gear I would never get rid of, and the V is one of them for sure.
