Nice Jase. Do you have the PG-1000 controller for it too?

By the way, before Dr. Orange jumps on ya back - the D-50 is LA synthesis (Linear Arithmetic Synthesis).

I've been reading up about the D-50s too recently. As you know I want a V-synth...And in the review for the V-SynthXT in SOS they put a real D-50 along side the VC1 (the D-50 onboard the XT ) on an Oscilloscope. The V-Synth can even emulate the DA conversion of the real D-50! Exactly the fucking same! The V-Synth D-50 will even react to the original PG1000 too!

Now I'm even more desperate for a V-Synth!

One tip I've read a few people saying with the D-50 is to turn the effects off if you want it to fit into a mix. But as far as anything else goes I have no idea.

Have fun Jase.

Nope. It's a shame, the guy that owns it really doesnt appreciate it, it is so fuckin dirty and dusty. Almost brings a tear to my eye

Thanks for the tip!!!!!!

The brass pads and leads sound awesome.....just going to download the PDF manual and see if I can start editing this beast. Damn it is a big-ass synth. Heavy too!

accualy the V synth is rather limiting by its expantions.

you have to boot it up as D50,when you do so you cant use the V synth engine at the same time.
when you want the V synth you have to boot it up again.

btw,was the D50 one of the first virtual analogs? or was it the JD800 ?

So what! There's nothing stopping you recording the D-50 to audio, then sending the sample to the V-synth OS.

Being closer to the original is what I'd be chasing for an emulation rather than features. And the VC1 is exact (not like some crappy minimoog softie).

Well I wouldn't consider either of them VAs really. There's a difference between VA and PCM based synths. The 800s are cool synths though - unforuntately the prices have rocketed to the point of "not worth it".

I had a D50 home for awhile.. I might say, i didn't like it all so i hope you get more kicks out of it Jase!

Sure there was some sounds i did like but most of the sounds you could get out of that machine.. Nah

And i really don't like that "clean" design eihter. But i wouldn't say no to a V-synth with the D50-expansion
