What to do with the board.

I have made our forum "The girl next door" into a replica of this one and some members have already joined...

The forum is also a newer Version of PHP so it will be harder to hack it is phpBB 2.0.19 and this forum is phpBB 2.0.0 .
If this one should go down and you all decide to jump ship then i will need 303 and Juho as Admin as well as myself and Tarekith who are already admin so we have 4 admin bods should any people/wankers decide to put porn and crap up on the Maybe new forum....Please check the forum and see what you think...
I also asked Marc if he could link the Maybe new forum on the Access site as this one and the Other one got taken off awhile back through??well i'll let you answer that one !!
He said he will watch the Maybe new forum in the Future and if he likes what he sees then he will link it/us...This doesn't mean we all have to be on our best behaviour ,it just would be nice to be linked again.

Well, I am happy to help out transferring the database over and restoring it on your server if you want some help with that, but seeing as you got phpbb up and running I imagine you can follow the instructions on how to do it just fine.

As for Access linking to it, it would just be nice if they started visiting again, along with Ben. I assume they got sick of the crap they keep getting when they are trying to help. For this reason I would like to see more moderating, perhaps merging threads bitching about the same problems into single threads and banning of people who are unable to build a bridge and get over it

My suggestions would be:

- Renew sunesha.nu domain name(it's really cheap) so that the old link still works everywhere it's been linked to. The old link should basically just redirect to the new destination.
- register a new domain name to reflect more what this board is about.
- setup hosting accordingly, and enjoy!

I wish I could help more with that but if you guys can find out the fees for the stuff I might be able to chip in!

As I said, I would have done it allready, but I suspect that renewing it will just re-able the domain management account - which is completely useles to us without knowing the login/password for the domain management console. If you dont know that - then there is no eas way to point the domain at the eventual home for this board.

You can stilll of course leave a forwarder.

the other issue I have noticed is that since the change to IP address - the site cookies are no longer working for logins

Number one problem to sort out right now has to be getting a copy of the database off the host - thats going to need the real host login.

Getting that database copy off will at least mean of the hosting lease expires, we have something of the history of this board to take with us.

Best bet is Juho for this I think, but even his account may be useless for that (BTW where is the old pirate? )


As for a future home - I fully vote for GirlNextDoor taking over hosting if he can, failing that - then he allready has a board up and running and the right intensions around keeping inflamatory rants under control which will hopefully keep marc, timok and ben as regulars

I suspect the rioting of the last months or so has calmed down now for good - at least I hope so

I have 1 site with 50GB transfer bandwidth and 6GB webspace.
Another with 250 MB webspace
And another with 8GB webspace

I am looking to move 4BarLoop into the UK onto a faster ISP and will then have even more space available.

Don't mind hosting the site if someone else wants to buy the domain...

Easily do-able - I certainly have the SQL skills and have had a few phpbb sites.

I don't mind - whatever... Only thing is I don't want to moderate the board, would rather leave that as is - I don't have any time free to do it. Especially with all the pricks posting at the moment... (ie porn and drugs etc..)
