Always nice to have new toys Just as long as you don?t have to share it with your kid Great sounding by the way
303: I wish my son would have the same patience when i play around with my gear though he does love when i go "uhm-ba-chi-ca-uhm-ba-chi-ca" with my mouth and when i sit with him in front of the piano he stares into the notes and begins playing some random notes so maybe there?s still hope

WOOHOO!!!! I won, and first prize is.....HC's V-Synth! You can send it by EMS if you like mate, just put "no commercial value" on the customs declaration please.
Fuck, now my GAS has reared its ugly head and Im stinging for a V-Synth.

Hehe. Me and Ausa seems to be really lucky with Nova. She loves to sit next to me and watch me play around with Reason. She is really fantastic
And still.. I am very jelous of you, I want an V-synth aswell (and i've wanted one since i first saw it. It looks so great esp. if you got other fun gear to sample)
|
You wait 303, it'll come mate. They don't stay like that for long.
Yeah that's the thing with the V-synth - it's really a sampler with heaps of flexibility to mangle the samples you put in.

I agree. The only thing I wish it had was smoother filters (they have audible stepping if you push them too hard), although you can kind of work around it, but it's a massive drawback. Other than that it's in a league of it's own.

Yeah, I tried using a few softies at first before getting this, Kontakt and Absynth, but they fell flat compared to this thing - for a start you can't really record straight into them, plus it's so fast and easy to make sounds on the V-Synth that's it's pure fun. So what new ones have you bought then Merl?

She said it was OK with her if I bought one ages ago, but as it's alot of cash I thought I'd try the soft route first. Now that I have the V-Synth I shouldn't have wasted my time.
Everyone who gets into creative sampling should have one of these machines!

Hehe, I'm not sure about that Jase.
I played around last night processing it like I would my other gear and HUGE is the word I'd use here. I sampled the CS thru the valve into the V-Synth, then I built a few patches based on those wave forms and then I split that signal - one half going back into valve, the other half straight into the desk - combined the two and ran it into some outboard FX and bloody hell!!!!
I'll post a few more MP3s in the next few weeks to help that GAS of your Jase.

That's something I've found from many synths, it's a bummer. With my MC505 though I thought "bollocks!" and actually tried to turn it into an effect in its own right. Whack up the resonance and then slowly step through the filter cutoff so you can hear it stepping, then whack it through distortion to enhance the stepping further, followed by a nice sounding delay or the like....
... Although of course that misses the point slightly, and is only ok for some applications.

Yeah, the Virus was the first VA which I thought was great in this department - before then I didn't even think it was possible in the digiatl realm. It's the only wish I have for the V-Synth.
