Default Virus B Control Problems

Hey guys,

My Virus B was working perfectly fine a couple of days ago, except now when I turn it on, I am unable to control any functions; save for the volume and the buttons. The knobs are no longer functioning and I don't know why??? I can change patches and values from within the Edit menus accessed via the Edit buttons. No clue as to why this suddenly started, haven't touched anything.

Haven't yet attempted a software reset.

Anybody have any ideas?

Thanks,
kedarchie

Hello,

If I were you, I'd contact Access Music's support right away!

It doesn't look like a hardware problem to me, 'cause it would be a BIG coincidence for all the knobs to stop responding at once! So my guess is that it's software related, but have absolutely no clue as to how to fix it!

A software reset could be a good idea before anything else, yes.

Best of luck!

Don't worry just yet, you may have inadvertently altered a certain setting hidden in the menu which deactivates onboard knobs, try this: http://www.infekted.org/virus/showth...079#post305079

Default Fixed

Tried Timo's solution, except that didn't work.

A website suggested to hold down the LFO shape buttons while turning on to reset the Virus. Not sure if this is a software reset or something else, but it fixed the problem. Don't know what the problem was in the first place, but it's all good now and I've got it back up and running. Thanks to both of you guys.

Thanks for the feedback. Good to know it wasn't a hardware fault!

Yes, holding down LFO shape button while powering on is a system reset. The manual mentions: "No data will be lost during this procedure, although some global system settings such as 'Global channel' will be reset".
