Default VIRUS TI2 Display Problem

i´m using the TI2 now for 3 Months or so now without any display problem, but yesterday as a turned the ti on the display suddenly had a cross in it

or better to describe it looks like a cross where the display should show the parts of the letters and numbers

allready did a reset->pressing arp edit and power on->no luck

had the os 3.0.1.09 which worked without any display error for 3 or 4 months

installed the 3.0.1.12 yesterday, no change with the display error

is there any other way to reset the virus? or any other solution?

thx

i doubt that this is a software problem. those displays fail sometimes, it is rare but it happens. they are standard parts and as everything else, in actually fairly rare cases, they have faults which surface after a while.

Looks to me that the chip which controls the display is a bit buggy.
Definately a hardware problem...but not the display itself.

no, the chip is not buggy. not everything is buggy all the time something things are just damaged. if you take this display and put it into another TI it will behave the same.

If the cross would be death pixels this would also be visible on the second picture...which is not....that's why i guess its the chip and not the display.

Anyways....the answer will be somewhere in the middle...
