Default Computer can't find my TI anymore

This morning when I started the computer it failed to recognize some of my hard drives. I had to use the reset button on the computer to reboot it.

It worked, but now the computer can't find my virus. What is the first thing to look at? How can I solve this problem?

First: I would be looking at the age of the computer motherboard. Some give up after just a few years. They do it in ways that equate to hardware not working and very hard to diagnose.
Second: when did you last install a fresh OS? I know it's a pain but try a new install on a fresh HD just to see if that's not your problem.

Try a different USB port. For some reason on my computer my Virus TI doesn't get recognized on the back ports, only the front ports.

Different USB port, try a new USB cable too. I spent a day dicking around changing OS versions on the Virus, reinstalling the drivers, until I went and bought a new cable. Worked perfectly, havent had an issue since.

One obvious thing with my TI is sometimes the TI fails to power up (switch on at wall). When this happens the computer doesn't recognise TI and thinks some other usb device is attached. I simply turn off and on at the wall again for TI and computer finds TI.
