Default Ti Comparable To Any Other Synths

This TI shipping thing really has me down in the dumps. I ordered a C and before it arrived it was discontinued for the TI, so I had to change my order to a more expensive model blah blah blah might turn into 6-7 months before I get my order I originally made in October

So if you could get a synth that was comparable to a virus ti or even a virus c, what would you get?

Hmmm.....I would get an Andromeda, or perhaps a NordLead, or maybe even a Supernova

For a VA the Nord's sound nice....however the 49 keys will likely get on ur tits after a while....particualrly if its ur only keyboard.

Alot of people have bashed the onboard effects on the Andromeda.....but they are in fact pretty damn good and useable. Especially the true analog distortions and delays.

Its a tough one to call. If the Ti does get pushed back till April then im just going to to wait till the end of the summer before i pick one up. August time....

Im a long time lurker on this forum but I finally have to ask a question.
I made a pre-order on the TI months ago and am now considering finding something a different synth - I dont want the TI to arrived with bugs and the whole USB 1 thing is an issue...
So Im after some opinions as to how the Andromeda stacks up (sound wise) against, say, a Virus C ...
I had a C and sold it for the TI and I would love some opinions because Im seriously thinking of switching to the andromeda....

The best thing you can do is go down to your local electronic music store and play with the Andromeda. I know most places probably wont stock this type of thing, but it would really be the only way that you will know for sure if the Andy is the synth for you.

Or else....hold tight for Ti. Im sure it will be here soon enough.

Personally i dont think the TI will arrive onto the market with that many bugs. The USB 1 speed 'issue' is not really an issue at all! The bandwidth appears to be more than suffient......even if it was expanded somewhat in later OS updates. Having USB2 would be overkill.....just as current midi is now. Midi has never been fully utilized.......some 25 years after its conception.

The Andromeda is a nice sounding synth. Its analog.....and naturally provides greater authenticity if 'analog sounds' are what your after. I personally use analogs.....and for the most part they are more satisfying than VA. However, VA does bring a distinctly different kinda sound to the table....which is useful. In my opinion the Andromeda sounds a little nicer than the Virus C.....but the difference is not huge. Bigger differences can be heared when comparing to a Prophet or Jupiter.....

At this price point (i.e. high end)....most synths will suffice and do a good job. What the Virus TI does is yet to be seen.....but im pretty confident it will be an improvement over exciting Virus'
