Default 1.1.1 progress

Seeing as the main thread was hi-jacked by ner'do'wells, I thought I'd just give you an update.
Right, installed the Vc plugin on a fresh XP install (bootcamp no less).
I've been running multiple channels, multiple ARP's and so far, have not had one crash, one satan and the timing has not slipped.
I even tried to fox it by beginning a recording cycle one tick out, and the ARP's recovered within a few beats !!

It all seems to be running as it should, in fact, I'm going to start tentatively writing with it and I'll see how it goes.

Has anybody else had a replacement unit in the last month ?
How does your experience compare ?

Ooooo, I hope not too many people waited past the length of Access's poxy 6 month warranty thinking that OS updates were gunna fix the TI.

Does this mean a hardware fault?!

At any rate, glad to hear it's all working out for you Threlly!
Keep us posted on the progress.

Its a bit weird, you update the OS and things slightly improve, but the main bugbears remain.
Crashes, Satansaw, timing drifts etc etc.
I get the unit replaced, all gone.

To quote Star Wars "I have a bad feeling about this"

That's a bit strange...

But I got my Polar back in october 2005 and preordered in december 2004 so I probably own one of the first few units. It used to be practically unusable for months but at least in the meantime I designed a shitload of sounds to use in my productions and got familiar with every section of the synth. And now since OS 1.1 Beta, it works like a charm. It's not 100% perfect and I do experience some minor issues over USB but nothing that prevents me from working with the synth on a daily basis.

I experience occasional crackles on some patches(the ones are that being the most cpu hungry)...some MS patches often seem to be the problem but once I turn the volume down a bit everything seems to run much smoother.

lol thats not crackle then mate, that's digital overdrive.

all the issues i experience purely belong to virus control, so i would presume that is a software thing as most people with hardware failure were experiencing it in both standalone and VC.

I had the crackling etc, its gone now.

I started hitting the metal today, 12 parts, effects, multiple ARPS, automation control information from the VC etc.

Nothing, nada, works like a dream (famous last words I'll bet)

So it sounds like a lot of people have a pretty solid TI with 1.1.1 without usb and vc? Standalone over midi is stable and reliable and crack-free?

Do I read correctly that there are now 112+ multimode ram slots to save in? The old limit of 16 was a killer for me for working in midi mode. 100 or so would be enough and I'm remembering what a hassle the multimode in the Virus C can be now.

yep we know have more multi slots, I hope that they will introduce some way of setting key maps for sounds in the multi's, it's on the wish list so we'll see what happens

Cheers
Kris
