oops, didn't mean to step on anyone's toes. I've been out of the loop for the past few months travelling and just started really checking back into the forum yesterday. So if the hosting part is all set, then very cool

This was the plan ages ago when Sunesha had said he was going to have to stop hosting it at some point, then he vanished off the face of the planet as far as anyone can tell.

I can help with technical stuff but not money wise... For the hosting the easiest would be to copy the database to another host with phpBB on it and move on over. Tommy was planning to change over to a different bb system which is fine too but a bit more hassle.

If anyone needs any help/advice just let me know.

As things stand - primary problem is not loosing the current database. Domain names etc are trivial to sort out.

So, even if another host can be found, does anyone have access to the host server to grab the files, or otherwise do a database replication?

The other thought - does anyone know how time there is left on the hosting lease?

If loosing the database (ie the users and posts) cant be avoided, then there is another site up and running courtesy of girlnextdoor (incidently running the same board software).

I hope that the database will not be lost. I've dribbled a heap of shit here and it would be a pitty to see all that wasted time become.....well....wasted time!

Can the database be moved?!

I know that 3o3 can do a database export, so that should be fine.

Aye. Indeed I can, I will export the database after this message so I got a new copy of it.

So the next step is where it will go?

Maybe Access would like to add it onto their site?

What was the eventual outcome of the first thread started by Sunesha?

Bloody hell. It seems like I can't make a backup-copy of the database, hopefully I'll see that crazy Juho online later tonight and I'll ask him to make a copy of the database.

Next step would be trying to get hold of a copy of the database; buy a www.uavf.se-adress (or .com, .org, .eu, .nu or whatever). I got webhosting - We update the board with the newest php-board available and then start the board once again.
