Default Snow+Novation SL+Sysex?

What I'm thinking in my head is that I want to control every parameter on the snow with my Novation Remote SL just like you can control the desktop, keyboard, or polar via their front knobs and buttons.

So far I'm under the impression that you can via Sysex messages from reading a few posts on here. One problem, I've never programed sysex with the SL or with anything.

I'm trying to find possible documents defining the Sysex messages sent from the TI, but I'm having trouble with that. Does anyone have a link to get me started in the right direction? Checked that manual but I couldn't find much. Couldn't even find CC#'s or the like.

I wouldn't mind trying to find a already made template, but to be honest I kinda want to dig my hands into it and configure my own custom one.

I have a whole week off of work and I've been wanting to set up a really nice template to do live tweaking of the snow.

Any help would be awesome! Thanks in advance!

I had a correspondence with Novation regarding the same concern as yours. send me email at soulidstate@gmail.com and I'll forward to you their answer.

BlairWillis from this forum has made the Template for the Snow to link up the RemoteSL. You could ask him for help. I've got a copy, but I'm much of a mouse user

Hi! I think it's very easy to create your own setup instead of using a template. You should use/overwrite one of the first 36 templates. You can get the manual from the Novation website. Use CCs, and check the list, what -i think almost all- will work. Maybe it is time consuming but it is worth that... Default Midi CC´s

Hey Gyulus68 thanks for the info! There are a few parameters missing on the list, but those should keep me busy programming the novation for a bit.

I would really like to have control of all the parameters such as different OSC types with the wave name displayed on the SL. As well as having the extra osc controls appear and disappear on the lcd's when engaging complex grain osc etc. Although I'm not sure if it is possible I am willing to try and find out. I just want to make the most pimp controller map I can for the snow.

Hey would the Novation X-Station 25 Key be a good candidate for controlling the Virus Snow?? I tried using my Pioneer DJM800 which didn't work all too well since I didn't map anything. Unfortunately I had to let go of my Snow before I could try again.

What are some other 25 Key controllers that have a Midi out? We should make a list.

I remember somewhere in the list of forums that someone wanted to use the Nano Key controllers with the Snow. I looked into this a while back and it looks like it could get really complicated. The solution is simple... a USB in to Midi out device. Since there is no such thing, someone has to design one. Apparently it's easy to make devices that output USB data but it is much more complicated to design a USB controller to interpret that data. Basically it's not worth it. There's no market for it so no one will design and make it. I'd recomend if you want to use a USB midi controller for live use, then get a cheap used netbook and dedicate that to the Snow. I suppose you need a DAW to use it still... So we'll have to wait till Access makes a snadalone VC version.

WHEW! Wasn't expecting to write that much. I get so into my forum writing sometimes.

I am using the Novation SL Remote line of controllers and they work fantastic with the Virus, and another other plugin/soft synth for that matter.
