Default Cutoff Link and Filter Link

I am not able to figure out what these do..I know that one of them links the Resonance on both filters, but what about the other one ?
The manual says : The upper CUTOFF knob also controls filter 2. The lower knob (CUTOFF 2) becomes a bipolar (64 to
+63) offset to filter 1 cutoff instead of an independent value...

I tried different settings and when Filter 2 has a HP and Filter 1 a LP, with the Filter and cutoff LInk on, then Filter 1 behaves like a LP on the first half of the knob and HP on the second half...But when I use LP on both filters its not so obvious what exactly is going on. It seems to be doing the same thing as when the Option is OFF...which is that if F1 is closed half way (LP), then F2 does nothing beyond the same cutoff Frequency..As there are no harmonics there anymore, for it to do anything after F1....
Where is the Offset part ?

Could Someone please explain with an example.

Thank You
