Most likely if it's naturally that humid inside in the winter, you'll probably want to measure RH in the summer too, and either turn the A/C up or use a dehumidifier. Not just for rust but mold, health reasons, property damage, etc. Humidity can be a bitch.

You can also try a little vinegar to get some of the surface rust off but that can take patience sometimes.

arh, very good point the de-humidifyer, we had a mould problem in our built in. It messes with my sinuses. Might look into de-humidifer
