Default TI Snow not working with a cracked copy of Live ?

I want to buy a 2nd hand TI Snow and there's this guy selling his but I saw on a forum that this same dude had problems using it with Live even with the latest OS.
I mailed him and he says he's using an old cracked copy of Live and that would be the reason why it's not working.
Sounds like BS to me, what you reckon ?

If this cracked copy meets the version requirement it should perform fine. If it was, like the guy said, an OLD version there's the problem.

Also, why using a cracked copy of live when you can do with using the cheap entry level version and enjoy full support?

I think we all know why some people choose to use pirated software instead of cheap light version. What's dubious in this case is the fact the guy didn't dl a more recent pirated version...

The guy replied, he says he's using Live 6 and didn't bother upgrading because he's happy with it and he doesn't use the integration much that's why he's selling the Snow to buy a Polar.
It seems it actually makes sense

Good to hear they're solid pieces of hardware.

Get and buy Live 8. The TI range work much better with this version of Live. In fact i would go as far as to say any other version would be awful. Timing is better. Ext. instruments allow realtime rendering/freezing which you will need with the snow with its low polyphony and turn the snow in to a very powerful synth.
