This guy has his Evolver in the same place I have mine only on my TI.

I need to get more under the hood of the Evolver, it can sound incredible!

Thanks to whoever it was that recommended one (I posted a thread about the nicest but modern analogue synth) - I think it was Merlot, or perhaps Tomer...

I tend to spend most of my time turning the digital oscilators down.

To be totally honest DS since buying it I have hardly had time to use it. I haven't done any music stuff for over a month. It should soon start up again (probably tomorrow night).

But from what minimal contact I have had it is good for making big dramatic sounds with lots of movement and "evolution", hence the name.

I love the way patches are tweeked using the matrix. I haven't really got into the sequencer side of things so can't really comment, but I love the LP filter and the analogue osciallators. The feedback is incredible - I keep meaning to play the virus through the Evolvers filters and feedback, but alas too little time.

But for bang for buck I absolutely astonished at what it can do. I paid about ?275 for mine and that is terrific (especially compared to other synths that have come out recently )

But what about the tweakability? I've played it and I loved the sounds but you have to get the editor which is sold seperately or a dedicated midi controller. I'm waiting for the TI's remote function with 1.1 next month to see if it works. But 470e are not a big deal for the fat sounds you can get out of this little beast. Even with the matrix programming layout, evolver is too tempting...

THIS is the editor you want for the evolver. They are making a few for other synths including the virus c/b/a, but this evolver one looks the dogs bollocks, even adds functionality not available on the actual hardware version!
