Default cubase 5 audio question (quick reply required)

Do you have enough inputs on your soundcard?
Or are you using VSTi ?

I might be stating the obvious so sorry if you already know this....

You need to set up the outputs of your synths on to different channels on your desk, and have the direct outs connected to your soundcard. then set up the same number of audio channels in cubase, whose inputs correspond to which input your synth is coming in on your soundcard.

Then arm all the individual tracks, and press record. Obviously, if you have more than one part playing per device, these will record all at once, I think. So you have to record each MIDI channel per device seperately.

Well, this is how I do it anyhoo.....

Hope that helps.

thanks for the replies,

jasedee that sounds logical enough to me, my system is set up that way through the mixer so that would probably work.

i just seemed to remember someone showing me years ago how to do it and i thought at the time it looked pretty straight forward.

i was from the old skool of recording on a yamaha SY85 and korg trinity, then mixing onto dat, so im a bit rusty on the whole audio recording stuff.
