soft synths stink. hardware synths are a resource even when you are far from a computer, you just plug in the good old fashioned MIDI, and they don't consume CPU power. of course for people who travels often, softsynth might be the only solution, but I prefer the good old way. if you buy a simple desktop Virus TI you'll even get a *free* professional soundcard in the bundle (which is the Virus TI itself...) so why bother with soft-stinks?

Oh, I forgot to tell you that I am nobody, so my suggestions can be really helpful. Yes, to fill the forum with useless bytes! =)

Tried the Largo, not really impressed. If you want virtual analog, the Virus is still king. If you want to have fun with a softsynth capable of handling VA, digital, samples and blend everything together for an extraordinary effect, get Camel Audio's Alchemy. For the same price as the Largo, it's a no-brainer.
