Default Question for Ableton Live users

been looking at Live 5 quite a bit lately and have to say that it is one impressive piece of software. Just curious how the TI is working for you live users?

i don't have the TI ... but i think not better or worse than Ableton 5 with a virus b

why shouldn't it work - you could send and recieve midi note numbers, controller messages ore program changes and system exclusives, like in every other sequencer program ... but there are no "special features" embedded in Ableton 5 for the virus TI if youre asking for that

yeah, I was actually thinking more along the lines of how the Virus Control and Live 5 work together. I suppose it is just like any other vst instrument and should work fine.

I'm using live as my main-sequencer for the live performances ... only planing to get a mac powerbook, the pc sucks - but i can tell you mate: great intuitive realtime programming, hands on ! the Roland TR909 and 606 are groovy as hell, since i got my Ableton live. I'm triggering the Roland SH2 and 101 per cv/gate and controlling the parameters of my TC effect units with ableton ... everythings so easy and done just with a few mouseclicks, midi effects like Arpeggiator, Chord, Pitch, Random, Scale and Velocity plus groove/swing function for the patterns ... a.s.o a.s.o

i love ableton five *sorry* live

very cool. Yeah, it looks like I will have to alter the way I think about making music (as I understand that Live doesn't require the linear process of like a cubase or protools). Session view looks great. And I am especially impressed with the open beta program they have going! When you switch to a laptop, are you going to add an external drive to it to have two drives, or are you planning on running everything off the internal drive?

think i'll be runnig everything off the internal one - don't nee much space, cause i'm just using live as a MIDI sequencer for my external gear - so i don't need much room for samples or VSTis
