Default Setting up the virus control with logic 8

Hi

I have watched the tutorial but still stuck on setting up the Virus Control.

When am in the environment i have created a new layer named it Virus TI, once ive done this here is my problem. What do i do now as if i create a new channel strip the software instrument is grayed out.

So what i'd like to know is how do i go about setting up 16 instances of the same channel in the environment.

Thanks
