If the DSP alone had followed Moore's Law, it'd be 4x the DSP [400% poly] of the original TI mk1).
Bit disappointing after five years. =/

It's not a Ti V2 though , it's just a hardware revision/update...
they've sorted bascially everything they said they would with the Ti so far and added more shit than I know what to do with.
the 25% extra may not actually be extra DSP . it may be down to just better coding of the OS
Marc -- what's the score on the extra DSP power ?

Doesn't the SNOW already have USB 2.0? I was always under the assumption it already was - and if not: I have never hit a bottleneck where the USB speed was a problem.

I would presume that faster Freescale Dsp chips are in there which share the same instruction set etc, maybe higher clock speed etc. I'd like to know if it will sound "exactly" the same as the TI1, with the issues I've had with timing etc.

from the new gizmo manual pdf it says
Quote:
All new effects were designed to allow everything from subtle
of change through to altering the sound beyond all recognition. The algorithms were created with both sonic
quality and a low CPU footprint in mind.
A tremendous amount of research went into the new additions ensuring a totally different level of quality in
comparison to the legacy algorithms. But even the legacy algorithms have been improved by additional parameters
which makes them more flexible and powerful.

so it may just be claiming back resources to make it more powerful ?
also it seems that the new version has a slightly different way of effects operation ...

Virus TI Snow
EDIT/SHIFT+EFFECTS, then locate the Frequency
Shifter page of the EDIT EFFECTS menu by using the

The confusion with USB v2.0 is that there are three types of USB v2.0 chipsets (for different speeds). Low Speed (1.5Mbps), Full Speed (12Mbps), and High Speed (480Mbps).
All the TIs have the mid-range "FullSpeed" USB v2.0 chipset @ 12Mbps, which is incidently the fastest that USB v1.1 can achieve. Hence the confusion.

Interesting, am I reading it right - the TI 2 has 25% more power than the TI V1?
