Default question for anyone who has just installed os 6.5

i dont want to overwrite any of my sound banks, but im unsure about what will happen when i install the new os, it installs in two parts, and i notice the second one says it contains the rom sounds.

where will the rom sounds be stored???
any help appreciated.

I think the other part always contains the ROM patches.

Not sure about this. You could (read: should) take backup dump of your A&B.

you do not have to install the second file if you don't want to. The new OS builds are always contained exclusively in the first .mid file. The only exception to this is if you want to install the second1024 file to get the extra ROM sounds instead of the demo song, but again this need only be done once - thereafter you just install the first.mid files for the new OS updates.
