It's only for the Christmas Advent Sundays, not an everyday thing. I sincerely hope there's not a new product yet

Viruses have really shot up in price haven't they?

TI mk1 used to be £1500 full retail... Now it's £1900 with a coupon. And that's with a current strong £Pound and a weak €uro.

The Polar is getting further and further away from my reach.

I wasn't old enough to bother when the Virus earlier than TI were being sold but the prices for TI and TI2 have never gone up in my country - it's always the same 1780€ for the desktop, it's been at least for the last 3-4 years.

Now, the used market instead....

I wanted to upgrade and purchase the TI2 61 key version, but when I figured out how much total I decided not to and just stick with my TI1

At this point I would wait for NAMM and maybe even for Musikmesse. There are a lot of things that can make their way into the Virus:

- user interface (more knobs)
- sampling
- user wavetable
- different models of filter/oscillator
- no cackles

Let's see...

Just my opinion... do folks really want or need a sampler in the Virus? At that point it just becomes kind of an all-in-one workstation, and there are plenty of those out there. I always thought the allure of the Virus was that it had a signature sound profile, as a dedicated synth typically does. A certain character that makes it a Virus. Once they start trying to be a one stop production shop, you're almost better off just using a PC with a DAW.

+1. User wavetables, welcome; samples as oscillators, welcome. Sampling and other stuff...buy a Motif, a sampler or use the DAW.
