Default [unsolved] problem loading soundbanks

This is probably a really stupid question but how the hell do you load in new soundbanks?!?

I just got my Indigo2 and it's a beast! I immediately upgraded to OS6.5 and loaded in the 1024 sounds.

You would think that you just load new sound banks the same way .. but when I play the midi file in Cubase (60bpm) nothing happens?!?

What am I doing wrong?

* Sorry if this is a dup but I couldn't find anything from the search about this topic.

Thanks!

Have you really read the manual about loading sounds to the Virus???

Have you enabled the midi receive on your Virus? Upgrading the OS isn't the same thing...

Hmm... I can create a midi track in Cubase and the Virus will play it ... so it does receive data in a sense. You would think it would receive the soundbank midi the same way.

Are you talking about using the Midi Dump RX - Force to Edit buffer stuff? Do all new sound banks have to go through the edit buffer?

Thanks.

Banks cannot be loaded through edit buffer. You'll have to force the bank to A or B.

course they can juho!!!

i do it all the time!

that way u can screen each sound off the bank and save it anywhere u wish...instead of dumping the whole bank into a or b.

all you have to do is have force to edit buffer set, then play the sequencer at a really slow bpm....as you play the sequencer the patch name will change on the virus screen, press pause/stop on the sequencer, play the sound - if u like it save it to a patch slot - if u dont press play on the sequncer again to get the next sound.

takes ages though...but it can be done

so basicly there are 2 ways to load sounds in...dumping all teh sounds into a or b, or going through the sounds one by one by going through the edit buffer...

Hey. You're right. That indeed is possible with low tempo. Sorry I talked nonsense.

But anyways the patch loading should work just fine, unless you have a SysEx send filter on (which I doubt since you've probably updated your OS).

Default U Can do That.............

OR......
You can also Just load the SoundDiver Files. Once you Transmit them, They infect the Virus with the New Patches.
Load one, two or all of 'em.

SoundDiver is a useful tool that seems to get overlooked.

BTW, When I Upgraded to OS6.5 I used Cubase and ran it @ 200BPM to speed up the Process and It worked fine. I used the 2 larger midi files as opposed to the smaller ones.
