Question Arpeggiator question Indigo 2/Virus C

Salutations y'all. Mind blown by the recent acquisition of an Indigo 2, I'm
stunned, seriously just straight up staring with my ears.

I consulted the manual and couldn't find the answer to this specific question
anywhere else, I am wondering if the arpeggiator can be held on a Single patch
while I switch the Keyboard->local:OFF? Or perhaps some other technique?

What I am TRYING to do is hold the arp on an internal patch, and then control
external gear with the keyboard. Whenever I have an arp held and I turn the
Keyboard->local:OFF, the arp unlatches. Same if I change the midi channel.

What I THINK needs to happen is address this as a Multi-Part? But I have had
no success yet, and not clear as to how to set one part to arpeggiate while
improvising the other (🤔maybe split keyboard?).

Anyway, this is probably a basic question that I just can't quite wrap my feeble
mind around, thanks for your time.
