Have you checked out the virus tutorial on the access site? In the tutorial you will find out how to create drum sounds on the Virus.

Talking Create A...

Wuzuh!

Create a Multi-Single Set with the sounds you have now.

Go through all the preset sounds you have in ROM and write
your favorite ones down and make a little midi drums map
of the key ranges for the 16 parts and then make your new
Multi-Single. Use different Midi channels for each and then
flip through the different parts with the Part Button or CC.

This was a fun project with my KC and the great for live stuff!

Have you seen this site:

www.synthsonix.com

They have a wicked percussion only soundset there to buy, good price.

I have bought they're patches and they are all really good...

I found this on Waldorf's site after I got "Attack"

http://waldorfmusic.de/assets/files/...drumsounds.pdf

Good pointers that should apply to most subtractive synths.

I never even knew that company existed! Indeed the Synthetic Percussion set might be just what you're after.

I think making up a multi would be the only way to do it (for multi-timbral sounds), like RenderGod suggested.

Also, if you're interested in making your own percussion/drums and want to bust a few brain cells (quite literally), check out the Sound-on-Sound "Synth Secrets" series: http://www.adp-gmbh.ch/csound/synth_secret.html

... Scroll about two thirds the way down, just after Part 30, it goes into how to simulate real percussion drums, and also to recreate classic analogue drum sounds.

By the way, welcome to the forum.
