I used to use Sound Forge.

I need a new sound editor. Is Sound Forge still teh awesomez, or is there way better stuff available these days?

Any recomendations would be useful.. :>

I like it. So much that when I moved to Mac, I got Parallels to run Sound Forge alongside the DAW software. That's how much I prefer it over anything else.

Of course, it depends on what you want to do. I want fast sample editing (trim drum samples, hi quality sample rate conversion).

But don't feel SF9 is out of date if you like it.

Peak is the bestest for Mac...though not as swift as Soundforge...
maybe its just getting the hang of the controls...

Bloody hell Doc! Are we running the exact same software setups or what?!

Wavelab has been my main editor for a while now - I haven't even felt the need to try anything else yet.

I am still using Cool Edit Pro 1.2a!

but i am thinking of changing too, since i can't even double click a wave file and make it open in cool edit.

have to go to file -> open, for it to work ..

hehe...

I find soundforge the most convinient, using V5 and appreciate its up to 9 now but I've always got this anti-Sony stigma since working in electronics industry years back.

Unsure if there is any major differences in the audio engine of SF 5 - 9 or any other wave editors to be honest. Be interesting to find out

Been using Sound Forge for a very very long time. Sonic Foundry really brought a lot of great tools to the table. Anyway, I'm highly anticipating version 10.
