Default Cubase 5: Can I copy Virus Automation?

I have a track with a decent amount of automation and now the virus audio driver will NOT load... no matter what I do.

Here's the option Im left with. I can remove the virus instrument save and close. Open up the project again add the virus instrument and it works... except I loose my automation.

Is there a way I can save this automation and reapply it to the new virus or am I stuck doing all the automatons over again?

From my digging I think you should be able to open up another project in Cubase and drag and drop the automation from your existing project to the new one.

It worked.

With my original project still opened I initialized a new empty project, loaded the virus. Then went back to the original project and copied the entire Virus folder track. Then using the new project like Notepad I pasted the data there for safe keeping.

I removed the virus track from my original project saved and closed. Opened the original back up loaded virus and pasted my data from my "notepad" project.

Thanks!
