Default invitation: beta testing for access

hello,

with a new version and a new year just around the corner we would like to invite _you_ to apply for beta testing future versions of the Virus TI operating system.

we're looking for tech savvy testers who comprehend what beta testing means: spotting bugs before they hit the entire user base. on the bright side though, having the chance to influence the TI to a degree, others might not have the chance to.

send you applications to: betatestapplications@virus.info

please include a brief description of your setup and if you don't mind, profile yourself a little.

best, marc

Marc, that is fantastic news. Do you have a ballpark timeframe as to when the beta testing phase will begin?

I'd be happy to take on this difficult task Mark.
But of course you'd have to send me a TI first.

Yeh - this is indeed excellent news

Other beta programs Ive been on have been quite interesting and its allways great to get closer to the development of something you really like - but it definately aint for everyone.

If you need your gear to meet deadlines, gain income etc - then be warned - beta programs can be very frustrating under such contraints, also be real careful about patches created in betas - I should think with the TI you should be OK, but some stuff Ive been in beta's for, it was a case of write down on paper what you did so you can re-create the patch on the next beta update and finally the ship version

If you have the patience to live with you're gear being too buggy to make much use for a week at a time, and yet are willing to keep at it and keep poking it and can support yourself with some unpleasent side effects of beta code (trashed PC for example in a worst case scenario with beta audio drivers) - then definately apply, you will probably enjoy it if accepted

Please forgive me in advance and I may get scorned for this but aren't all current TI owners beta-testers anyway...

Ouch!

Will be getting one in a couple of months, perhaps once everyone is happy their TI is working as it should...

But now people can be Beta testers for the Beta testers!

Seriously though, I can understand why Access would want to do this. It's much better to get feedback from a selected user base, instead of having the Access help centre inundated with customers complaining.

I hope they get the bugs sorted soon though. That way they can spend time incorporating the Hypersaw into the C series OS.

What happened to the original Beta testers? Did they get paid off like the guys from China Syndrome?
