This new synth is very welcome. I will purchase one at some point. There are not very many 8 voice analog synth in the market right now, in fact only prophet 8 and Studio Electronics Omega 8 / Code 8 (any other? Sunsyn?). The P8 is just a synth which many analog synth lovers have waited. The P5 has been one of the most interesting vintage analog synths for me (never played one but still) and the introduction of P08 was a very big and positive surprise.

It always bothered me that the evolver has a/d and d/a-conversions in the signal path. However, I was still going to get a MEK but now it seems that it will be Prophet 08. I really like the design of the Prophet 8. I hate the way how most manufacturers use blue LEDs in their equipment. Of course it's easy to make the product more attractive in the music stores if it has very bright LEDs but it's kind of annoying to use in a dark room. The red and yellow LEDs in prophet 8 look very good. The knobs look good too.

Most of the P8 sound demos which have been posted don't represent the kind of sounds which I use but I can still hear how the synth sounds and I am already thinkig of those vangelis kind of pads which I will program with it. :P

Im thinking I may have a major synths sale sometime later this year and strip back to just the Virus TI, SE ATC-X. And maybe get this DSI P-08.

Ill probably dump my MD-UW for the DSI drum machine once its out as well as I rather like the kind of feature set apperently planned for it. Same reason - tired of overly digital sounds

I just seem to have got real bored of VAs and digital modelled synth sounds in general with the virus ti being the exception as I still like its general sound character so long as I dont crank the high-eq up too much.

Cool Prophet '08

Just ordered it
Not with the ugly Leopardwood end panels ,
but also without the nice red lighted wheels

Yes, shall try, it comes to Norway in November.

Have just installed the Encore Midi kit in th JP-8, and I like it more and more.
But when it have been "on" for a while, the 8.osc-pair comes out of tune .

Got a short JP-8 demo mp3 on matrixsynth.com today: "Roland Jupiter-8 demo", cool

Try to find out the differences between the P08 and the Envolver on the net, but haven't found any comparing yet.
