Default exporting/viewing factory TI ARP patterns

Morning all,

I have a Polar. What I want to do is export or even view the factory ARP patterns either in the Pattern Editor or in an external file.

I want to use one of the Arp patterns in the CamelSpace trance gate plugin (or any other Synth Arp like the NI FM, and can't figure out how.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Music is joy for free

There's a setting somewhere that'll send the notes that the arp is playing as midi out. Not sure where though since I've not used it. That'd be the easiest way short of just doing it by ear.

Yeah, I saw from the FAQ

There are five very important simple steps:

  1. Make sure your sequencer is set to receive input from the Virus.
  2. With the Virus Arpeggiator Send (CTRL -> MIDI -> ArpeggSend) set to "Off" record the notes you wish to trigger the arpeggiator with onto a track (let's say MIDI channel 1).
  3. Now set Arpeggiator Send to "On" in the Virus and make sure the sequencer is
setup to receive input from the Virus.
  4. Create a new track set to a different channel with a non-arpeggiated patch on
the Virus (let's say MIDI channel 2) and press record.
Now after the track plays to completion, mute track one and track two should
contain the individual notes. It is important to use a different patch and MIDI channel for the second track to avoid the dreaded MIDI loops that will occur otherwise. And while it seems logical enough...make sure you have MIDI cables connected to your ins and outs!

I can't figure out where to find the
Virus Arpeggiator Send option!

thx for the reply though

Try hitting the config button on the virus just to the left of the LCD. It's probably under the midi section in there (keep hitting config or use the parameter buttons until you find the midi section).

That's just a guess though I could be wrong.

I am utterly lost by those instructions. I'm using my Virus as my soundcard, hooked up by usb using Ableton. Can anyone describe what to do in more layman's terms please?
