Default Inputs Available When VC In Use?

Hello everyone. Frustrating question... I'm using my Ti Snow as my main soundcard and would like to take advantage of the input section for my guitar (just clean tone, unaltered by the virus, direct to an audio track). Only problem is... it's not working. Is there any way to do this while using the VC interface? I've got it to work in the past when the VC is not loaded, but I'd like to have both running side by side. I can always use my 'old' main soundcard (m-box) but the Ti just syncs a lot better and the latency is pretty good. Anyone?

Thanks.

Just run it through the TI and VC as though you were going to do things to the sound, but leave it clean.

Hi Sonis... Yes, I've got that much down, thanks. But how to route it to a real audio channel so I can record it? Sure I guess I could do some chaining off realtime recording plugins, but I'd like to just have a dedicated stereo or mono/mono channel setup in my cubase. I'm starting to feel this is not possible?

Oh that's true I never work with recorded audio like that so I always forget you can only record actual input off an audio channel (I'm used to just bouncing tracks down when I want to turn them in to audio)... Hmm...

I think you might be SOL unless you can find a VST plugin that can clone the audio from one channel to another or something but I don't know if there's any plugs out there that do that.

Thanks Sonis for confirming this for me. Too bad this can't be done... Only way to acheive this is Cubase 5 is to route the output of the specific USB channel to a group channel, and then on a newly created audio track pick the group channel as the input. Pain in the ass, but it works.

Oh hey I didn't know you could set group channels as inputs on audio tracks haha. Yeah that'll be your best way to do it then. I don't see why they let you use group channels as inputs on audio tracks but not instrument channels.

Steinberg is silly sometimes haha.
