I hope not. If crackers somehow crack it (and I can imagine a Virus VSTi would be placed the highest on every crackers' hitlist), then Access would be vulnerable as the Virus is the only product they have. Also fewer people would buy the actual hardware synths.

Maybe a Virus Indigo VSTi might potentially be less harmful, given that the Virus B engine has been massively superseded by the C and TI. But then again they already do this in the form of the Virus Powercore.

You say that like a large percentage of other software companies haven't had either all of their products cracked, or at least their big name products cracked.

I don't really see much need for a softsynth from access though when the TI is so close to a softsynth already, I'd much rather have them spend the time adding new effects and the like.

And I'm sure that their bottom lines have likely suffered to some degree. Therefore if Access were to remain hardware only, their bottom line is perhaps better covered.

Well the thing is I think a lot of the people that pirate softsynths and the like are people that either wouldn't buy them anyways, or couldn't afford them anyways.

I mean I'm sure their bottom line would take a bit of a hit, but if it wasn't profitable there wouldn't be so many companies making softsynths right now. I mean look at companies like Spectrasonics.

They could also always just go the dongle route like Waldorf did.

I'm just playing devils advocate here though because I likely wouldn't be that interested in a softsynth from access unless it had some huge advantage over my TI2. :P

ACCESS please don't do ever a softsynth of your VIRUS.

It would be the most cracked softsynth on the earth.....

The hardware synth is the best protecting dongle ever.....

Long living ACCESS, peace and thanks a lot for this amazing synth.

Largo uses syncrosoft dongle, as far as I know that hasn't been cracked in at least the past four or so years (Cubase 3 was the last one cracked). Afaik no modern synth (Korg, Largo, Artura, Virsyn, Eiosis, VSL, Steinberg stuff etc) has been cracked.
I would love a virus vsti native, it probably will be the only virus I will ever get.

IMO, Largo isn't necessarily going to make the majority of people with Microwaves and/or Q's want to sell them, either. The sound is markedly different...it's not a direct replacement for the hardware (especially a Microwave 1 with real analog filters).

FWIW, Largo is DEAD ON sound wise to their hardware synth character.

No one cares, no one sympathizes.
So you just stay home and play synthesizers.
